Special West Connex Meeting 3rd February 2014, Leichhardt Town Hall

Special West Connex Meeting 3rd February 2014, Leichhardt Town Hall

Leichhardt & Annandale Residents Precinct Meeting
7–9pm on Monday 3rd February 2014
Leichhardt Town Hall (corner of Norton and Marion Sts)

Offramps, exhaust stacks and ratrunning from an $11,000,000,000* private tollway, "urban revitalisation"**, ...but no public transport***.

If you’ve never come to a residents precinct meeting until now, come to this one!...
To launch 2014 and following up on previous presentations from Eco-Transit and NOW Public Transport, Leichhardt and Annandale are co-chairing the meeting, guest speakers: representatives from WestConnex and UrbanGrowth NSW.

Hear it from the horse’s mouth, and tell it what you think. Like other residents, you might want to demand better public transport instead of a counterproductive private tollway, high rise development, further crowding on buses and trains already at capacity, and schools and services stretched beyond capacity.

*estimate in 2012 $; **which means pressure on rezoning for "massive high rise development en route";

***"exorbitantly expensive, privately built, demands public bailouts and offers a transport option that, despite massive artificial support, no one actually wants; a big fat white elephant in the room" that will exhaust the NSW infrastructure budget for the next 20 years, with no change to Parramatta Road (Farrelly, SMH, September 2013:

Meet other residents and learn about your local community.

The Leichhardt and Annandale Residents’ Precinct Committees give residents a chance to find out information and to talk about the issues that concern you and your community. The Precinct meeting is also a forum for interaction with Leichhardt Council. It is organised by volunteer residents and supported by Leichhardt Council. All residents are welcome. No issue is too big or too small.

Leichhardt and Annandale precinct AGMs are deferred until Monday 3rd March. Contact: 9367 9047 | leichhardtresidentsprecinct@gmail.com | annandaleprecinct@hotmail.com http://www.leichhardt.nsw.gov.au/Community/Get-Involved/Precinct-Committees
