About Sydney Linux Users Group

The first Sydney Linux User Group (SLUG) was on Friday 30th July 1993 only 2 years after Linus Torvalds originally created the Linux operating system 1.

SLUG was incorporated in 1999 2 . At the 2010 AGM members voted for SLUG to become a Sub-committee of Linux Australia.

SLUG has a diverse membership of users, developers, sysadmins and advocates.

Membership is Free. Members organise meetings on the last Friday Evening of each month and discuss Linux via general and special interest Mailing Lists.
