"The recent removal of the WestCONnex Camperdown interchange means that the traffic, air quality, noise and financial projections for the New M5 are now wrong. Yet the Baird government has announced plans to charge ahead with starting tunnelling works at the St Peters Interchange - even though no one now knows what the impact of this part of the tollway or the interchange itself will be.." Subject: Follow up from Badu Park Rally against WestCONnex
Email: Fri, 2 Dec 2016 12:04:42 +1100
Dear Annandale and Camperdown neighbours,
You are receiving this email after your opposition to WestConnex was noted at the rally in Badu Park on 20th November.
West Connex in our local area will mean
- 12-15 trucks per hr for up to 24hrs a day, carrying spoil from underground diggings (7 days a week like the St Peters tunnelling site)
- Smokestacks (n Rozelle and ???) with serious health effects (unfiltered particulate matter from thousands of vehicles using the tunnel)
- Intense traffic congestion and gridlock in Booth St, Johnston St and Bridge Rd
- Disruption and delays to public transport
- Pollution from additional cars and trucks and rat runs through local streets
- Parking for 350 workers in local streets
- Land may be acquired for permanent facilities
- Loss of precious green and open spaces
Many of you are already active in your opposition to the project, but for those of you who want to get more involved, here are some suggestions:
- Come to the WestConnex consultation session at Balmain Town Hall and tell WestConnex what you really think:Balmain Town Hall, Thursday 8th December, 6:30pm...
- Talk to your neighbours, let them know what is happening
- Sign an Open Letter to the NSW Government opposing WestConnex

Parramatta Road has been divided into Precincts: Granville, Auburn, Homebush, Burwood-Concord, Kings Bay, Taverners Hill, Leichhardt, Camperdown connected by Frame Areas.
"The Frame Areas are important connections between Precincts and will contribute towards the transformation of the Corridor.
